MAKEUP ARTIST PROFESSIONAL COURSE

TO WORK AS A MAKEUP ARTIST
As a makeup artist, you can always with great precision create illusions and manipulate shape and character. To accomplish this, much knowledge is needed for contouring, shading techniques, and correcting. A professional makeup artist also has special expertise within fields such as film effects, the way light affects work within a studio, medicinal camouflage, among other things.

As a makeup artist, you often work in a team. Together with models, actors, designers, producers, and photographers, you will get to unleash your creativity. Your work is important and demanded. Color and shape are part of your workday as well as exciting challenges within fashion and trends. The expansion of the advertisement and media-industry has made the demand for skilled makeup artists ever-growing, now and in the future.

PRODUCTS & TOOLS
In the education, we include two big set-bags, work clothes, brush kit, professional makeup products, tools and hair products which is worth at minimum 4000 euro. Everything which you will need is included. You will not need to buy anything further.

THE EDUCATION
At the beginning of the education, we will teach you the fundamentals of makeup, work hygiene, skincare as well as knowledge of products and tools. You will also be educated in handling customers and ergonomics. 

Early learning these factors will give you a sturdy platform to stand on and will make your workdays easier in your professional life.

The number of varied techniques, makeups, and stylings, and updos which we have chosen for the content of your study material are those which are of the highest demand within the market. This complete course content will give you the knowledge and the best possible preconditions to be able to work on all types of assignments. The content of your education is more than enough of the knowledge which is needed and expected of makeup and hair stylists all over the world. 

INTERNSHIPS
During your education, you will be offered internships, insofar as the school receives inquiries. The internships are adapted according to the content of your education. Exciting and educational internship work combined with teacher-led classes is very important for a good and rewarding education.  All intern work will be supplied by Mariart’s agency and will lead directly to working in the professional business. We have high standards regarding the type of internship work that our makeup artists and hairstylists will be offered.  They shall lead to experience and contacts within the industry. In some cases, the students will also be paid as interns.

Mariart has close working relationships with several large actors within the business, such as Estée Lauder, Dior, TV4-group, SVT, Vecko Revyn, Fashion Week, among others.

We also work with the larger production companies within TV and movies. This will of course benefit our makeup artists and hairstylists during their education but also after their examination. Many of our intern jobs will lead directly to professional work. We can proudly boast that many of our students are offered work already during their education.

LESSON MODEL
Usually, you as a student will choose if you want to book a model for the lesson or if you want to practice with a classmate.  For some students, booking models feels tricky and cumbersome and so we will offer the opportunity for students to practice on each other or style their afforded hair doll.

For those students who wish to makeup and style a model, we have a wide register of models that can be booked for your class. Of course, your friends and family are also very welcome to participate as models.

PORTFOLIO
Every year, Mariart arranges an opportunity for you as a student to take portfolio photos. For portfolio photography, you work as a student with professional photographers and modeling agencies. The portfolio opportunity is voluntary and takes place at cost price in addition to the course fee. Access to internships varies according to the demand Mariart receives from partners.

CV AND CERTIFICATION
After having completed your education you will be an internationally certified makeup & hairstylist. With your assembled certificate document, CV, and your newly initiated portfolio, you will have the best possible resources and pre-qualifications for succeeding in the business of your chosen craft.

AGENCY
After completed education, you will be part of Mariart’s agency. At our agency, you have the possibility of being assisted and supported by assignments and work.

COURSE PLAN & PRICE

In the course fee, we include two makeup artist-bags with makeup products and tools, which you will need during the course, worth 43 000 SEK.

We can offer the entire course fee as an interest-free installment.

During the course, you will enjoy a 20% discount on Emite Make up’s product catalog. Graduated makeup artists and hairstylists will enjoy a standing discount of 20% for as long as you are active.

Distance education has ongoing starts.
You can start at about 1-2 weeks after registration.

RIGHT TO WITHDRAW
The sign-up is binding. However, you have 14 days of right to withdraw when the deal has been made according to “distance & hemförsäljningslagen”. The right to withdraw-period is from the day your sign-up is received by us, and 14 days afterward.
